There is an important regional workshop to be held on LHC Tier-3 data
analysis and networking requirements at TAMU all day Feb. 14
involving Internet2 and regional networking and data analysis
providers. All LHC-related scientists in the nearby region,
including Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana are
cordially invited and requested to forward this message along to
their colleagues in the nearby region who may have missed receiving
this.
The registration pages are up and taking responses at
https://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=536
There will be other regional meetings in this series at UC Davis,
Michigan, Princeton and possibly other locations.
Videoconferencing will be provided on a best-efforts basis, so
attendance in person if possible is preferred. For further
questions, please contact Alan Sill at the address below or Rich
Carlson, Internet2 Networking Engineer, at rcarlson at internet2.edu .
Appropriate persons to attend this are those involved in or
interested in planning for networking and data flow requirements or
interested in proper setup of their site in these terms for LHC data
analysis at the institutional level. Although the primary focus of
the meeting is on these topics, experts will be on hand on related
site setup topics with respect to Tier-3 data analysis. Note also
that the Open Science Grid is sponsoring a workshop on March 7 at UC-
San Diego as part of the OSG all-hands meeting. Details on this
latter meeting can be found at
