Hi all,
The Open Science Grid Provisioning Activity is just getting started to
prepare for Deployment, which patches our timescale. This is the
generalization from Integration testing that I have referred to in our
meetings.
Initial Provisioning home pages are at:
http://osg.ivdgl.org/twiki/bin/view/Provisioning/WebHome
Note that as with all of the twiki pages used by OSG, you will have to
either register or just enter empty fields in the user name and
password fields to gain access as a guest. If you plan to visit OSG
pages often, it may be best to register (enter empty fields as above to
be taken to a registration page) and allow your browser to remember
username and passwords for these pages for you so you can avoid the
logon dialog on each page.
A volunteer to work on OSG provisioning for our production resources at
TTU would be appreciated. Other useful twiki pages can be reached by
using the sidebar on the left-hand side of the above pages and clicking
around. One of the most useful pages is the installation guide for the
current (integration test) versions at:
http://osg.ivdgl.org/twiki/bin/view/Integration/
You may also want to read separately about the Virtual Data Toolkit
components, including the useful VDT-Client (which can be installed
either as root or as non-root locally if you want to use it on a system
for which you do not have root logon privileges, very useful):
http://www.cs.wisc.edu/vdt/
This makes use of the package manager pacman to do its installations.
Links to pacman and getting started with the VDT asre on the above
site.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
