[THEGrid] HiPCAT THEGrid proposal - Feb. 2004

Dear colleagues,

Attached is the original proposal presented by Jae, Larry and myself to 
HiPCAT to form THEGrid as a HiPCAT project.  This was accepted at 
subsequent meetings, and we proceeded to organize the first workshop 
just held at UT Arlington (hosted by Jae Yu and company) as a result.

I promised to distribute this to the group and request assistance from 
everyone who attended in making this a more general document.  In 
particular, we need to make explicit all the changes and action items 
that were agreed to at the workshop, and try to make this a more 
working document.

I will be away for a week at another activity, and then hope to tackle 
this and other action items that we agreed to as laid out in the 
summary we produced at the workshop.  Please be thinking and contacting 
other high energy physicists that you know in  the state, and other 
people within your own institutions as we agreed to do.  See you in 
about a week!

The first of our short weekly meetings will begin on July 23, Friday, 
from 9:30 to 10 am sharp at ESNet video 82TGRID (8274743).  Please be 
ready for that and make sure you have access to ESNet H.323 video.  
Future meetings may be both ESNet and VRVS if we can manage it.
